Yves Salmon began her career at the British Film Institute.  Her freelance work began in the late 90s shooting interiors but by the fluke of a single job she found herself moving into people photography.

There is a narrative element to her work that can be seen, whether it’s a corporate event or a series of portraits and her aim is always to tell a story of the client’s day and event. Early experience in school photography and working with the education departments of clients such as the Historic Royal Palaces and The National Archive have enabled her to develop her skills in working with children and young people as well as adults.

Since 2007 she has attended various international film festivals including Cannes and Venice to make portraits of film talent.   Her clients come from a variety of sectors that stretch from corporate to arts to government and the film industry and her relationship with the BFI continues to this day.

While continuing her commercial work Yves is currently studying for a Masters in Documentary Photography & Photojournalism at the University of Westminster.
